Keyword Difficulty
Keyword difficulty scores estimate how hard it is to rank for a specific keyword in app store search. Higher difficulty means more competition from established apps.
Keyword difficulty helps you prioritize which keywords to target. A keyword with high search volume but extreme difficulty may be nearly impossible to rank for, while a medium-volume, low-difficulty keyword could drive significant traffic.
Factors that influence difficulty include the number of competing apps, their authority, download volume, and how well-optimized their listings are for that term. New apps should start with lower-difficulty keywords and gradually target harder ones.

Keyword volume (or search volume) indicates how many times a keyword is searched for in an app store within a given period. Higher volume means more potential traffic but usually more competition.
Keyword Research
Keyword research is the process of discovering and evaluating search terms that potential users type into app stores. It forms the foundation of every ASO strategy.
Long-Tail Keywords
Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific search phrases with lower volume but higher intent and less competition. They often convert better than broad, high-volume keywords.
