ASO comparison FAQ

What does the ASO comparison show?

It runs a full ASO audit on both apps and shows them side-by-side: overall score (0-100), letter grade, and per-category breakdown across title, subtitle, description, keywords, and localization. The winner of each category is highlighted so you see exactly where each app outranks the other.

How accurate is the comparison?

We pull live metadata from the App Store and Google Play, then score each field against ASO best practices (character utilization, keyword density, localization breadth, structural quality). Scores cache for 24 hours. iOS keyword fields aren't visible publicly, so the iOS keyword grade is replaced with N/A and the weight is redistributed.

Can I compare an iOS app against an Android app?

Yes. Many apps ship on both platforms with different metadata strategies — comparing them often reveals which platform-specific tactics are working. The score breakdown adjusts per platform (e.g. iOS scores keywords from a 100-character field, Android scores keywords from full description indexing).

Is the comparison free?

Yes — completely free, no signup required. Each comparison gets a shareable URL so you can send it to your team or post it. AppDrift's paid plans add daily ranking tracking, AI metadata generation, A/B testing, and store monitoring on top of the free audit tools.

How do I find an app's bundle ID?

The easiest way is to paste the App Store or Google Play URL — AppDrift will extract the ID automatically. Otherwise: on Google Play it's the ?id= parameter (e.g., com.spotify.music). On the App Store it's the numeric ID in the /id1234567890 part of the URL.
