Screenshot sizes FAQ
What screenshot sizes does the App Store require?
iPhone apps need 6.9-inch screenshots (1320x2868 or 1290x2796 or 1260x2736), or 6.5-inch ones (1284x2778 or 1242x2688) instead. Apps that run on iPad need 13-inch screenshots (2064x2752 or 2048x2732). The other sizes, such as 6.3-inch, 6.1-inch, 4.7-inch and the 11-inch iPad class, are optional: App Store Connect scales your larger screenshots when you do not provide them.
What screenshot sizes does Google Play require?
Google Play has no device-specific sizes. Phone screenshots must be 320 to 3,840 pixels per side, with the long side no more than twice the short side; for promotion it asks for at least 4 screenshots of 1,080 px or more at 9:16 or 16:9, such as 1080x1920. Tablet screenshots are 1,080 to 7,680 px per side at 9:16 or 16:9. The 10-inch tablet and Galaxy Tab S9 pages recommend 1440x2560, a 9:16 size inside that range; Google publishes no device-specific tablet size.
How many screenshots can I upload?
Apple accepts 1 to 10 screenshots per display size per localization. Google Play allows up to 8 per device type and needs at least 2 across device types to publish a listing.
What file formats are accepted for app store screenshots?
Apple accepts JPEG and PNG; Google Play accepts JPEG and 24-bit PNG. Neither store accepts alpha channels or transparency in screenshots, and neither publishes a file-size limit for phone, tablet or iPad screenshots. PNG is recommended for screenshots with text overlays or UI elements.
