Promotional Text
Promotional text is an Apple App Store field (170 characters) that appears above the description. It can be updated without an app review and is not indexed for search.
Promotional text sits at the top of your App Store description and is one of the first things users read. Since it can be changed anytime without submitting an app update, it's perfect for time-sensitive messaging.
Use it for seasonal promotions, new feature announcements, limited-time offers, or event tie-ins. While not indexed for search, it plays an important role in conversion rate optimization.

The app description is a long-form text field (up to 4000 characters) that describes your app's features and benefits. On Google Play, it's indexed for search; on Apple, it is not.
Release Notes
Release notes describe what's new in each app update. On Google Play, they're indexed for keywords. They also build trust by showing active development and responsiveness to user feedback.
Character Limits
Character limits define the maximum text length for each metadata field in the app stores. Exceeding limits causes submission rejection; optimal usage maximizes keyword coverage.
