Yes. Design one square 1024 × 1024 master. The App Store icon must be opaque with no alpha channel, while the Google Play icon may include alpha. For Android's adaptive icon, keep the important part of the artwork inside the central 66 dp safe zone, which every launcher shape shows.

Do app icons need to be square?

Yes. Supply square artwork with square corners. iOS applies its own rounded mask, Google Play rounds the store icon, and Android launchers mask adaptive icons into circles, squircles or rounded squares depending on the device. Pre-rounded corners show up as artifacts.

What file format should app icons be in?
